Camera Work Preliminary Exercise

Camera Work: Camera Framing This is the third and final part of the Camera Work Preliminary Exercise, which highlights 8 camera framing techniques used in films. These camera framing techniques include the single frame, 2-shot frame, 3-shot frame, 4-shot frame, 5-shot frame, crowd shot, POV frame, and over-the-shoulder frame. For each of these frames, I listed the definitions, purpose, and elements shown in these frames I captured. The information relating to this assignment is shown below.

Camera Work: Camera Angles This preliminary exercise is the second part of the camera work assignment. Focused on various camera angles in films. These camera angles include the low angle, high angle, dutch angle, overhead angel, eye level angle, shoulder level angle, hip level angle, knee level angle, and ground level angle. Similarly, I had to define these angles, convey the purpose of these angles, and the elements shown in the pictures. This can be seen below.

Camera Work: Shot Sizes For this preliminary exercise, my peers and I were assigned the task of gathering 9 shot sizes used in films. These include the establishing shot, master shot, wide shot, full shot, cowboy shot, medium shot, medium close up shot, close up shot, and extreme close up shot. Next, we had to provide the definitions of each shot size, the purpose of it in films, and the elements shown in the picture. My organizer for this activity is shown below.

Camerawork Storyboard Analysis Section 5 of the part A mid-term is centralized on the camerawork of our movie, Black Widow. Where my teammate, Jonathan Spence, had to identify all the different camera shot sizes, camera framing, and camera angles. He then had to find eight frames in the movie, identify the camera shot size, framing, angle of it and convey the meaning behind the shot. The key information I learned in this section are the different camera shot sizes, camera framing, and camera angles. For instance, there are nine camera shot sizes that film makers use such as the cowboy shot and establishing shot in a movie. Camera framing also includes nine different frames such as a single shot and point of view shot. Lastly, I learned that there are various camera angles used in a film like the eye level angle and knee level angle. Any other information pertaining to this section is below.
