The main message of the opening scene is to cherish what you have in the present before you lose it.
b. What is the central belief in the world of the film?
The central belief in this film is how power is everything as the villain dedicates his life to building the ultimate army.
c. Which group (s) of people/audience is the filmmaker representing in the film?
During the film, the audience being represented can be seen as orphans due to Natasha and the rest of the widows being either abandoned by their parents or taken away.
d. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence that immediately gains your attention and interest? (Clip #1)
Some images that immediately gain my attention include the photobook Natasha is carrying before she boards the plane and the photos which are set as they are in the center of the screen.
e. What connotations do the images carry?
The connotations these two images provide are a loving feeling between the family as they are leaving behind everything they once had.
f. What is the enigma in the opening?
The enigmas in the opening of the film are why the family was being chased by the authorities and what did the father brought to his boss after landing the plane. Another question that can be raised is how the father managed to pick up a large object with ease when protecting his family, and where did Yelena (Natasha’s sister) go after being split up from Natasha.
