Camera Composition in Film Preliminary Exercise (Individual Task)

Camera Composition in Film (Individual Task)

The assignment that I will be introducing are the 2 camera composition techniques each member of my group had to analyze individually. Camera composition is how the elements of a frame are arranged. This is an important element in filming used to direct the audiences eye, keeping them interested in the set of frames shown to them. Cinematographers are responsible for carrying out camera composition in films and it is their job to create the look, color, lighting, and suitable framing of every shot in a film. The key concepts of this idea include the Rule of Thirds, Balance, Depth of Field, and Camera Work. The techniques that I worked on individually are Rule of Thirds and Balance: Symmetry.

The two techniques that I was responsible for in my group is the rule of thirds and balance: symmetry. My assignment was to document the definition and purpose of these concepts and provide a frame from a movie and document why the specific technique was used in the shot.

The technique shown below is known as the rule of thirds.

The technique shown below is known as first element of balance, symmetry.

As a result, we created an animated logo that represents the idea of "Power Prod...
