Post-Production (Editing Part 2)

This blog pertains to the first draft of the film we produced on the editing platform "wevideo.com". After my teammates and I decided on an editing platform to use to comprise our film, I started the process of editing the scenes we filmed. Editing is the process of choosing, manipulating and arranging images and sounds in the post-production phase of a film. This process has a significant impact on how an audience interprets our media text and how they will feel when consuming it. Ultimately, its main purpose would be to create a narrative space and establish a narrative time, create the illusion of a film unfolding naturally, create character development, and to engage our audience effectively.

The first steps I would take towards arranging elements of the film is importing the several scenes we filmed in the production phase. I would then arrange the videos in order to put in place the vision that my teammates I came up with in planning. To give a brief synopsis of the idea behind the scenes, our supporting character Nicholas Wilson gives a valuable bag to his friend and main character of our film, Spencer James. However, Spencer James would be spotted by one of the subordinates of a powerful boss Nicholas stole the bag from named Berry Doncic. He is then chased into a corner, and when Berry Doncic is about to punch Spencer and take the bag back there is a freeze scene narration of the narrator re-evaluating how he got into trouble. Consequently, it would que to a flashback that would hook the audience into finding out why Nicholas stole the bag, what is in it, why Spencer got involved, and who the unknown boss is. Production Company Logo Design

Production Company Logo Design In the pre production phase of our movie "Caught Up", we had to come up with a production company logo design. The name of our production company is "Power Productions", which evokes a powerful and energetic feeling behind it. We discussed various ideas of what the logo would look like. At first, we came to the decision that the logo should be a lighting bolt that reflects the idea of "Power" in our company. Additionally, we thought that the logos primary colors should be yellow and black to reflect what the traditional color of a lighting bolt is. Camera Composition Storyboard Poster (Group Assignment)

Camera Composition Storyboard Poster This is the last part of the camera composition assignment, where my teammates and I come up with 8 frames using 8 of the compositional techniques we analyzed and put it on a storyboard. A storyboard is a sequence of drawings or illustrations used to visualize a shot or frame. For this assignment, we came up with a description for each frame and put it on our poster or storyboard. The description line included the character's name, action, and location where the hand-drawn frame is taking place. Lastly, we had to document the camera shot size, angle, and camera framing of the frames we drew. An example of this is shown below. Since Brian Mareus was the best drawer in our group, he was responsible for drawing the images we came up with for each of the techniques: Rule of Thirds, Symmetry, Assymtrey, Leading Lines, Shapes, Deep Focus/ Shallow Focus, Foreground in Focus/ Out of Focus, and Background in Focus/Out of Focus. Pre Production (Storyboard)

Pre Production (Storyboard) Pre production is the most important step towards creating a sustainable film. It is the process of planning or designing elements of a film prior to its production. This means coming to a unanimous decision on what the film should be named, what the theme of the film should be, and the elements we can use to support the genre being developed. The name of our film is "Caught Up". The film revolves around the main character Spence who is given an assignment to take care of a bag that was later found out to be wanted by the boss of the antagonist Berry Doncic. Berry catches Spence, knocks him out, and takes the bag and now Spence even though not knowing what is in the bag wants revenge and to get the bag back.
